EDM, House, and Techno: What Are You Buying a Ticket For?
“EDM” is an umbrella term. Events sold as EDM can range from big-room and bass music to house and techno. Before you buy, check the lineup and the genres listed so the night matches what you actually want to hear.
Drifted Fest is a house and techno festival, not a bass or dubstep event. Its lineup mixes peak-time techno, melodic and progressive house, and Dallas-based house selectors across three stages.
What to Compare Before You Buy
- Lineup: headliners are only part of the picture. Look at who is on the smaller stages too.
- Stages and format: one stage, multiple stages, or a silent disco each feel very different.
- Venue and access: check parking, DART access, and how far you are from the gates.
- Hours: a 10-hour festival is a very different night from a 4-hour club show.
- Ticket tiers: GA, VIP, and all-access passes change your view, queue times, and comfort.
- Age and ID policy: many electronic events are 18+ or 21+; others are all-ages with a 21+ bar.
- Official ticketing: buy from the organizer’s listed ticketing partner to avoid resale markups and fakes.
